General Information
Women's Week in Provincetown is a week long festival of women artists, singers, actors, poets, comics, and more. There are plays, cruises, movies, concerts, and more. The Women Inn Keepers of Provincetown put together a program to showcase the many venues supporting the women's community. This web site highlights just some of the many performances and venues available. Many producers and organizations came together to share events, celebrations and parties for women. Some of them are mentioned here with links to their web sites.
The Vixen featured upstairs Winetasting in the Bacchanal room, and downstairs venues with Women's KISS performances (see web page for their line up). Featured were: Michele Balan; Julie Clark; Zöe Lewis; Ptah Brown; and various lesbian authors reading their works.
Women on a Roll had a party and shared upcoming event and travel opportunities.
Helping Our Women (HOW) events included: 10th Annual HOW Casino Night; Coffee Break with Women Authors; 16th Annual HOW Silent Auction; and The WET Party.
The Post Office Cabaret featured Suzanne Westenhoefer, Jimmy James, Cris Williamson, Bitch, Alix Olson, Marga Gomez and Jennie McNulty.
The Art House Theatre featured performers Lea Delaria, Katie Curtis, Maggie Cassella, Poppy Champlin, Sabrina Matthews, All The Kings Men, and Melissa Ferrick.
UU Meeting House had special guests, Holly Near with Emma's Revolution sponsored by WOMR 92.1FM Community Radio; Mimi Gonzalez; Franklyne from Montreal; Lucie Blue Tremblay with Cris Williamson; Tret Fure; and Olympia's Daughters.
The Crown and Anchor presented Jessica Kirson, Scarbie, Sophie B. Hawkins, Karen Grenier, Karen Williams, Kate Clinton, Vickie Shaw and Virago, along with the Masquerade Ball.
Olivia Cruises had a party with guest star, Sheryl Swopes, in a celebrity basketball game and Dance Party.
Whalers Wharf Cinema featured films about and for women, such as: Itty Nitty Titty Committee, Girls Who Like Girls, For the Bible Tells Me So, and The Gymnast.
